West Des Moines Craft Beer: Peace Tree Brewing's Blonde Fatale at Wellman's Pub and Rooftop

Today, we're profiling one of our mainstays: Peace Tree Brewing's Blonde Fatale, brewed in Knoxville, Iowa. What's not to love about Peace Tree? They started with a passion for beer out of an old abandoned car dealership in Knoxville and have grown to become one of the most respected craft breweries in the Midwest. We proudly pour the Blonde Fatale and often feature many others from Peace Tree. Here's a bit about the Blonde Fatale from Peace Tree's website:

Blonde Fatale:  Our Belgian-style Blonde Ale will steal your heart as the unfiltered golden hue seduces your taste buds with surprising smoothness.  It’s delicately hopped with Styrian Golding and Celeia for medium aroma with a crisp and refreshing bite.  The Belgian yeast adds hints of fruity complexity, but be warned – it’s mysterious charm will draw you in again and again. Wellman's Craft Beer Profiles! Best Craft Beer in West Des Moines: Exile Hannah

Because we love craft beer around here (duh!), we're going to do the next best thing to drinking beer... We're going to talk about it. So every once in a while, we'll feature a craft beer that you can get here at Wellman's Pub & Rooftop in West Des Moines. For the moment, we're going to tackle our Iowa brewed beers that we feature here, starting with one of our favorites: Exile Brewing Company from Des Moines.

We love Exile for many reasons. Yes their beer is outstanding, but first and foremost, we love that it's a family owned place, owned by the Tursi family of Latin King Fame. They took some of the best knowledge of beer and the food that they've crafted for decades and took the risk to brew something beautiful. In fact, they've created lots of beautiful things. 

One of our favorites is their Bavarian Wheat that they call "Hannah." Here are the tasting notes from their website: 

Intense aromas of clove and banana give way to a mouthwatering citrus flavor in this unique brew. German wheat and malt come together in a meticulous decoction mash to make a distinct and refreshing beer.
