On Wednesday, September 29, 1982, Mark and Michelle Wellman opened Wellman’s Pub on Ingersoll Ave in Des Moines, IA.
Nearly 30 years after it opened, Wellman’s Pub, under new ownership, still thrives as one of Des Moines’ most-tenured pubs. In 2010, a second location in Wellman's Pub & Rooftop opened near the West Glen shopping center in West Des Moines, and adding a new element to the Metro bar scene: our popular patio rooftop.
You can count on Wellman's Pub and Wellman's Pub & Rooftop to be that "third place" outside of home and work where friends gather, co-workers mingle, fans come to watch a game on our big screens and relationships bloom.
As a restaurant, we strive to offer the best food at an affordable price and are constantly on the lookout to push the envelope when it comes to drinks and craft beers. On the weekends, look to Wellman's for the best place to party, with live DJs if you want to dance and outdoor patio seating if you want to chill.
